Successful day trip down to Washington state to swap cycling stuff for ski and snow coats, and to put a tarp over Badger to keep the worst of the winter weather off the roof seals . Interesting exercise wrestling with a 20x40 foot sail given that the remnants of hurricane Anna were blowing through...thought I might have been getting an early flight home.
Leaving the car at the Holiday Inn at vancouver airport from tonight for 35 days, so I'm sure the battery will be flat again by the time we get back. Now we have 24 hours to kill before getting on the plane tomorrow evening, and then Maria can see how long she can cope with me on a beer and curry diet...
Why do the wheels have their own covers?
ReplyDeletesunlight. tyres will start to leach chemicals out of the compound after a couple of weeks not moving, so the recommendation is to shield them. If the wheel rotates more often than that it mixes the chemical back in, so we don't need to put them on if we are moving the bus every few days. And i made them to clip onto the wheel arches rather than over the wheels in case we overwintered in the bus it would help stop the wind going under the bus - we would have put skirts round the rest of the underside if we had spent the winter in it. And we did meet someone in california who once found a rattlesnake curled up inside his slip-over wheel cover when he took it off....
